Watch Arsenal vs AFC Wimbledon Carabao Cup Live Match
North London side ARSENAL will be looking to make it three wins in a row as they take on AFC Wimbledon in an enticing Carabao Cup tie tonight at the Emirates.
The Gunners are coming off the back of wins over Norwich and Burnley but the Wombles will be looking to upset the apple cart in north London.
It’s 38 years since Arsenal last lost a home League Cup tie against a side from a lower division, a 2-1 4th Round defeat to Walsall – then of the third tier – in November 1983.
Since then, the Gunners have won 30 and drawn three of their home League Cup matches against clubs from outside the top flight, winning the last 12 in a row by an aggregate score of 38-5.
In League One, Wimbledon slipped to a 1-0 home defeat to Plymouth as Ryan Hardie netted the game’s only goal two minutes after half-time.
It was a rare low-scoring contest for Mark Robinson’s Dons, whose games this season have featured a division-high of 28 goals.
Ayoub Assal came closest to nicking an equalizer, but passed up a double opportunity towards the end of a game that saw the South Londoners drop out of the play-off zone.
