Watch Chelsea vs Arsenal Live
1* – We are underway at Stamford Bridge
3* – Chelsea are in control here
7* – Nothing in the way of chances so far, but the game has started at a brisk pace with neither side giving much space away.
8* – First sight of goal for Chelsea as Mount fires in a low effort from the left, but it’s straight at Leno
13* – Havertz pinches possession as Pablo Mari takes too long to control a short pass, and the Chelsea forward is through 45 yards out.
16* – Goal Smith Rowe with the Bang
18* – It’s a disaster for Jorginho is Chelsea are under pressure at the back, and the midfielder tries to pop a backpass to Kepa – but the keeper isn’t standing in his goal, instead showing for a pass to the right!
22* – An intriguing point on Sky Sports just now – Kepa handled Jorginho’s backpass, which technically should have resulted in an indirect free-kick, but referee Andre Marriner elected to play on.
35* – This is a real chance for Chelsea as Zouma wins a header at a corner, and Pulisic has time as the ball drops at the near post – but he loops a header over the bar.
45* – Chelsea have had the majority of the ball and the better chances, but that mistake from Jorginho gifted Arsenal the lead – and they have defended brilliantly since.
Arteta and Arsenal will take that scoreline at half-time. They’ve looked poor going forward, but defensively they were solid. The back-three has looked good and Partey has been more imposing. Positive signs.
58* – Chelsea think they’ve equalised as Pulisic turns home a corner flick-on from close range, but replays show the USMNT star was well offside.
65* – Arsenal get away it there as Pulisic’s goal is disallowed for offside. A warning sign. They can’t keep sitting so deep.
73* – Sloppy from Elneny as he loses possession to Mount far too easily, but Giroud blazes wide from outside the box.
78* – Third change for Chelsea – Hakim Ziyech on for Azpilicueta.
That should open up some space for Arsenal to counter into..
81* – Chelsea probing for a way through, but again Arsenal clear.
84* – Mount takes a corner from the right, and doesn’t beat the first man – terrible delivery.
88* – The ball is at the wrong end for Chelsea, but they finally get the ball out of their own corner.
90*² – Partey carries the ball into the Chelsea area and goes down, but is booked for simulation.
Arsenal’s win pushes them up to eighth – while they can’t finish in the top four, the race for Champions League qualification looks tasty..
