1* – we’re off! Chelsea kickoff wearing their home blue kit and the home side City in their baby blue home kit with white shorts

5* – Tuchel has Pulisic on the right and Ziyech on the left to start, which is interesting. Perhaps wanting both attackers to drive width with their strong foot

7* – City’s high press is giving Chelsea some troubles building out an attack, so both Dave and Rudiger have tried to hit long balls or long range passes to hit runners running behind City’s backline

12* – Sterling struggles to control a backpass and ends up fouling Werner who has come onto the 50/50. Chelsea has a free kick now just off the edge of the box

20* – Chelsea win the ball and hit a through ball to Werner who isn’t called offside. Werner is unable to conjure anything alone, and pulls back and Chelsea look to probe for their own chance

24* – City win a corner and Alonso is able to head their first chance out. City’s second chance from corner is caught by Mendy

27* – Ake goes through Pulisic’s back, but Taylor decides not to whistle for a foul and City break onto goal. Luckily their cut back is poor and their threat is cleared by Rudiger

32* – Alonso and Ziyech combine nicely down the left and Alonso’s far post cross is too strong but finds Reece James who fires a ball into the box. Werner connects to divert James’ ball into goal but is offsides

35* – Gilmour hits a ball into space for Werner to run into, but Werner slows the ball down and his ball into Pulisic is poor as the two were in opposing minds

38* –Mendy hits a cross in and Christensen hits it out for a corner.

Ensuing corner is poor from Torres as Alonso gets a head and clears it easily

42* – Christensen and Jesus chase after a long ball, and Christensen has a kick and looks to have injured himself in the process. Jesus cuts the ball and Sterling side foots it into goal

45* – Gilmour collides with Jesus mid-shot and Taylor awards City a penalty kick. Rough two minute spell here for Chelsea

53* – City’s high press is much more persistent this half, and Chelsea are having a bit more difficulty with less time on the ball

60* – James has a shot from range blocked in the box and Dave has a cross saved rather easily by Ederson. Chelsea win the ball back and Pulisic has a shot at the edge of the box but his effort is high and wide right

64* – Rodri loses the ball and Dave runs up the right flank, cutting the ball central for Ziyech who hits a long range effort off the edge of the box low to the bottom right of goal

73* – Rudiger with some great defending shielding Foden off the ball over the top

79* – Credit to James who has come out of the second half a new man, with a solid 30 minutes here so far. His first half was sub-par but he’s made up for it

85* – Alonso is broken free behind City’s backline and he chips it toward goal as Ederson has came up. Ederson gets a finger on it out for a Chelsea corner

90* –CHO with a ball into space for Werner’s run who turns the corner and cuts it back far post where Alonso and CHO are and it’s Alonso who kicks it in!!
