5* – Jarrod Bowen takes but too close to Mendy who holds with ease.

10* – First sight of goal for the German forward. Nice ball into the penalty area from Mason Mount finds Werner unmarked around the penalty spot. It’s not an easy finish on the half volley and his shot goals over the crossbar.

15* – The wing-back ran out of room really and his cross / shot was way over the bar but it was a lovely quick counter that came from West Ham playing out of the back really well.

25* – Azpilicueta is forced to concede a corner as Fredericks threatens to get in down the left. The set piece is curled into the box and headed away by Christensen.

29* – Mendy’s starting position is excellent and that helps him get to a long ball over the top ahead of Bowen, racing in behind the Chelsea defence.

35* – Lingard evades the challenge of Jorginho and then sees a shot blocked by Silva.

Chelsea go into the break with a lead, then, although West Ham won’t be displeased with their performance.

50* – Chelsea now seem content to let West Ham have more of the ball, which is proving an effective strategy five minutes into the half

63* – Another well-struck shot from Mount, who sends a dipping effort towards the top left corner. Fabianski saves it at full stretch

73* –Clever defending from Azpilicueta to read the intentions of Fredericks and prevent the West Ham man from running onto a one-two with Lanzini in the box.
